David Gault, Chair
David Gault is an attorney specializing in compliance. He is experienced reading financial statements and scrutinizing contracts to ensure the best value. He holds a law degree from Georgia State College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Knox College. He is also a trained and certified mediator.
Tom Angelo, Vice-Chair
Tom Angelo works with GCA and is the maintenance grounds manager for the Beaufort County School District. With GCA, he has successfully managed contracts valued in excess of $500,000.
Rebecca Polk, Treasurer
Rebecca Polk is an operations officer for six branches of BB&T bank, where she trains employees on operations, conducts audits on policy compliance and oversees facilities maintenance. Rebecca also served as chair for the Port Royal Elementary School Improvement Council for four years. During this time, the council was a finalist for the state’s top SIC honor and produced several initiatives to meet the needs of the students and school. She has two children attending Bridges Prep.
Bryan Merrick, Secretary
Bryan Merrick is a certified teacher who taught and coached sports at Beaufort High. He is business manager for a company that provides special education related services to schools, and project manager for a construction company. Bryan earned a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Clemson and was a teacher for 13 years. He and his wife have three daughters, two of which attend Bridges Prep.
Joe Cooper is married to a Bridges Prep teacher and brings business experience as a consultant specializing in strategic planning, community outreach and coalition management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University and has two children attending Bridges Prep.
James Corbin works in the information technology field. He lives on Lady’s Island, is married and has three children at Bridges Prep. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University and an Associate’s degree in industrial technology from the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Shawna Doran works at Beaufort Memorial Hospital as vice president of quality, risk and patient safety and has a business background. She also volunteers with groups including the Beaufort Water Festival and American Heart Association. Shawna earned a Bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and a Master of Science in nursing from Walden University. In 2017 she was awarded the Palmetto Gold Award as one of the top 100 nurses in South Carolina. She has two children attending Bridges Prep.
Peggy Feuerbacher is a retired school teacher with a Master’s degree in education and is National Board Certified. She is married and has a grandson and granddaughter who attend Bridges Prep. She spent 19 years as a classroom teacher and was named Teacher of the Year at Norfolk Preparatory High School in Norfolk, VA. She also was the first National Board Certified teacher in Hampton, VA. firstname.lastname@example.org
Kelly McCombs is an instructor and student advisor in the Department of Hospitality Management at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. In 2014-2015, she served on the Bridges Prep Head of School Academic Committee and she has been involved in Bridges since it opened. She is a registered and licensed dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, and holds a Master of Science degree in human nutrition from The Ohio State University.
