Meet the Principal

 Greeting BPS K-5 Family,
It is a privilege and honor to serve as the new K-5 Principal at Bridges Preparatory School. My name is Dr. Lee and I hail from Manning, South Carolina. I come to Bridges with over 7 years of experience in education, in both teaching and administration.
I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina Beaufort, my Master’s Degree in Leadership from Concordia University, and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
I started my teaching career here in Beaufort County and I’ve taught at both Red Cedar Elementary and River Ridge Academy. During my time in Beaufort County School District, I served as a mentor, an evaluator, and was a member of the Induction Advisory Committee.
After a couple of years of teaching in the Lowcountry, my family and I moved to Saudia Arabia. I had the pleasure of working at the American International School of Jeddah, where I was an Elementary School teacher and the Middle School Assistant Principal. During my time in Saudi, I was awarded Teacher of the Year by Saudi’s Ministry of Education.
I am married to my lovely wife, Lexi, and we have two beautiful daughters, Olivia Kate (5 years old) and Ella Grace (2 years old). When I am not working, I am probably participating in professional development courses or cooking up something in the kitchen. My family and I are excited to be back in the Lowcountry and I am looking forward to an amazing year serving the students, faculty, parents and community.

It is my philosophy that all children can learn and are capable of learning; just at different rates and
with different strategies. My favorite quote is “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.” -Ignacio Estrad
Dr. Leon Lee
As a Paideia school, we celebrate the whole child.
In our elementary grades (K-5), we teach foundation skills that will guide children’s learning through high school, college, the workforce and life. We take our time to ensure that each child masters skills in the core subjects of reading, writing, math and science.
At Bridges Preparatory School, we infuse Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) into our teaching.  This is a project based curriculum focusing on problem solving.
