South Carolina Universal Grading Policy

Ranking Policy

Student Rank and Grade Point Average (GPA) at Bridges Preparatory School are calculated based on the South Carolina Uniform Grading Policy (SCUGP). The ranking is based on all academic classes at the end of each academic year and includes the entire class of diploma-seeking candidates.  Class rank will be demonstrated on the official transcript of every student.

Important EOC Information

  • EOCEP Requirements for Calculator Use:  Beginning with the fall/winter 2020–21 administration, the online calculator tool built into the EOCEP test engine will be the Desmos calculator. Using this Desmos calculator tool is recommended when taking the EOCEP Algebra 1 and Biology 1 assessments to reduce security risks and the burden on test administrators to clear memories on hand-held calculators before and after testing. Desmos can be accessed for free at www.desmos.com and used by students during daily instruction. This calculator includes a “slider.” Students should know that they will not have access to the “sliders” when taking the EOCEP Algebra 1 and Biology 1 assessments.
  • Online Calculators:   Students taking the Algebra 1 and Biology 1 tests will have access to both the Desmos scientific and graphing calculators.
  • Hand-held Calculators:  Students may use a scientific calculator or one of the graphing calculators listed below during the Algebra 1 and Biology 1 test after following the “Procedures for Using Hand-held Calculators” below. A graphing calculator most closely matches the functionality of the online Desmos tool.
  • Allowed hand-held graphing calculators (No other calculator may be used.):
  • Texas Instruments: TI-73, TI-83 series (all), TI-84 series (all)
  • Casio: FX-9750GII, FX-9860GII (S), fx-CG10 PRIZM EOCEP Fall/Winter 2020–2021—Online Test Administration Manual 20 SCDE Policies SCDE Policies
  • TI-Nspire, TI-Nspire CX, TI-Nspire with Touchpad (These three calculators will be permanently removed from the list of approved calculators after the 2020–21 school year.
  • During testing, all students are prohibited from using the testing device to create, store, or transmit by any means documents or images.
