Rising 7th Grade Student Immunization Requirement

Rising 7th Grade Student Immunization Requirement

August 7, 2019

To the Parents of Our Rising Seventh Graders:

South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) requires that students entering seventh grade in the 2019-2020 school year obtain one dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine.  In order to be compliant with this law, please contact your child’s immunization provider as soon as possible to verify if your child has already received the Tdap vaccination or to make an appointment for your child to get the Tdap vaccine. Please send in an updated immunization record for his/her school health record prior to the start of school.

Remember, South Carolina law requires that all children have a valid/current South Carolina Certificate of Immunization on file to attend school.

Please contact me if you have any question. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

Sincerely,
