Elementary School (K-5)
In Elementary School, we teach foundation skills that will guide children’s learning through middle school, high school, college, the workforce, and life. We encourage a learning environment that is student-centered, where they have the freedom to explore, make choices, and collaborate with their peers as part of the learning process.
A daily schedule of core subjects in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies is enhanced by encore classes in Lego Lab, Art, Physical Education, Spanish, Technology, and Library. Experiential learning outside the classroom through field trips and community service inspires students and enriches the curriculum.
Welcome to the BPS Elementary School!
I am excited to serve our families as our K-5 Principal, along with Mrs. Bridgette Halker, our K-5 Assistant Principal.
Elementary School is a time of astounding growth. Our developmentally appropriate programs offer students the opportunity to learn and grow emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically. Every child learns in their own way and at their own pace, and we are dedicated to meeting the individual needs of our learners.
Literacy, mathematics, social studies, and science are taught by our homeroom teachers. Students are also given opportunities to explore the arts, media literacy, physical education, technology and coding, and languages in additional classes to diversify their skills and help find their talents. Your child will also have the opportunity to engage in field trips, school-wide events, and after school activities.
The heart of all of our programs is our amazing teachers who inspire a love of learning in our students and empower them with the courage, confidence, creativity, and compassion to make their unique contributions to a diverse and dynamic world.
We’re excited to meet you and your family, and welcome you into the BPS family. If you have any questions, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
